The Pyramid of Success 

1.  Industriousness 

When attempting to be successful many fail because there own energy can only take them so far. Although being industrious helps to provide that desire to succeeding and not giving up. Industriousness makes a person different and more likely to succeed because of that desire and wanting. This enables you to give you all the energy even when you feel like you have nothing left. This characteristic will help oneself to use the skills they have to complete any task that heads their way. Its also something many lack like diligence many people walk so far but give up because they lack that diligence to push there selves more. The quote, "There is no substitute for work. Worthwhile results come from hard work and careful planning." sheds more light to the subject. This quote states what many people don't like to hear. Others can complain of not succeeding and blame it on someone else. This quote is saying  that nothing comes from nothing you need to work hard at it. To give every task your all and not any lower percent. The mere characteristic of industriousness helps to achieve the success wanted. 

2. Enthusiasm  

There is a saying that goes, "when it rains lemons make lemonade", and think it goes very well with why one needs enthusiasm.  In life you are going to face challenges that will stop you from reaching success.With  enthusiasm your changing that negative situation into a positive one with your attitude. It just coincides with the quote, because when your faced with a situation your making the best out of it with your state of mind that enables you to hande the situation better. In some metaphoric ways its like gasoline to a car helping it continue even when it might be damaged or dented. The dents can represent the many things in life that can knock us on our feet that even though we stand up we are left with a bruise. Enthusiasm in hard situations shows your true colors and there bright ones when you choose to see things with a better perspective. Even though its difficult at times to see things with a good attitude you just need to gain new perspective  on situations. A way to do so is by asking yourself what is the bigger purpose or picture on why this is happening. Enthusiasm can help climb the mountain of success helping you reach the top. When someone doesn't acknowledge the need for this characteristic they end up loosing a lot of time. With this knowledge you hold the advantage of reaching success faster than those who make less the importance of enthusiasm. 

3. Friendship 

  Like all things one can't get much done alone.  Although some prideful people may think they can fully get things done alone it doesn't always bring the same results. Everyone is capable to accomplishing things on their own. What most people don't like to do is accomplish with the help of others not and then. The positive things of asking for help at some point of the journey are getting to where you want to get quicker. Making friends is what you need in order to succeed. This is not just to reach success quicker but for moral purposes. Its good to have friends to support you in your goals and achievements. When you have friends around you there is a better way of accomplishing tasks. There is a quote that goes, "friendship is like the heartbeat, although they are not visible they silently support our lives". A friendship is important for support in hard moment when we need to find more perspective. They are the columns that keep us up when we feel like falling.

4. Loyalty

Loyalty is one of the many stepping stones to success. In order to reach where we want to be in life we need to surround ourselves with those who strive to obtain the same. In order to get to where we want we need to treat others the way we would want. If you treat those around you with loyalty they will hand you the same when you need from them. Loyalty is not only shown for those around you but something demonstrated to yourself. At times its hard to stay loyal and persistent to our dream and goals. Its good to be loyal to ourselves to not give up on ourselves along the road to success. This is so we wont settle for something that is not what we aimed to obtain. As easy as it sounds people settle for dupes of what they wished to obtain. Glen Van Dekken said,"loyalty is what makes us trust," and im order to reach the heights we desire we need to have others trust. This idea doesn't always appeal very strong to others until they use it and see its effects. Loyalty is just one of many stepping stones in order to obtain success. 

5. Cooperation

There is a saying that goes,"there is no I in team", and in life we will face challenges but as a team. Many struggle with this because to work as a team there needs to be trust. Trust to get things accomplished when asked to hold the other teammate up when they fall. Sometimes you lack an area that only one other has and in order to succeed you need both of your talents. I think like when building a house you need pillars in order to make it stand sturdy not just one pillar or else it will falter as soon as weight is placed on either side. Like this analogy we need teams to hold up that weight distribute the weight and stand tall. Helen Keller once said, "alone we can only do so much but together we can do so much more". This quote embodies the reason for cooperation in order to reach success. We are all like puzzles each piece is unique but can only work with another piece that is different to create a picture. We as a whole work together to create something great but alone the picture is only seen through a certain aspect. cooperation helps every thing go faster and smother or else nothing can fully be accomplished. There are many reasons for why cooperation plays a big tole in the walk to success reminding us that we need each other. 

6. Ambition

We all need a drive, a motive to accomplish something that needs a lot of hard work. Just like a car needs fuel a person needs ambition to be what keeps them a float through the things making them second guess themselves. For example there was this movie of a young girl who grew up in poverty with the desire of stability and luxury. There where many times she didn't get a job, people took advantage of her, and had many set backs. Although her drive was to have a better life so she kept on trying because she refused to continue to live in poverty. In that same way many face challenges but fall into acceptance which stops their journey to success. Ambition is what keeps one focused on the way factor in which they do everything that they do. It creates persistence, character, and chances to obtain what is desired. Heraclitus said," big results requires big ambition". What this quote is saying is that reaching a goal means preparing for its obstacles with ambition. That just like when we prepare for a long journey we take larger amounts of supply we need to also fuel ourselves with a lot of ambition. Ambition changes the way you see the goal which helps you seize the goal. 

7. Self Control

Self control is a very important ability to have when making decisions and walking forward with business relations. At times we make decisions based on our emotions. This can cause bad outcomes with were you want to go in life and what you want to achieve. Emotions are deceiving and when making decisions based on them their often not what you would have chosen. Self control means no one can move you emotionally but you. It also means you think logically and not with your head in the clouds. Although it might be difficult at times it will pay off. People will always want to get you down and when you give them the power to do so they will back track your destination. There is a quote that goes, " never let your emotions overpower your intelligence". This quote fits perfectly with having self control because it captures what it not having self control can do. When you let your emotions overpower you all you good characteristics. Self control is crucial to reaching success.

8. Alertness

  

Its very important to be alert when reaching success because then nothing can get passed you in learning new things. When your not alert your not focused and you fall behind. To be successful you need to be one step ahead of everyone else. Being alert allows you to be prepared for any obstacle that may come your way. When your not prepared for what is coming your way it can knock you two steps back from reaching your goal. Its tough when your don't reach your goals and success because of others but when its you keeping yourself because of lack of alertness is even worse. In order to prevent this one needs to be prepared and alert fr what ever comes. As well as focused and attentive for what ever new comes. When your alert you are advancing in knowledge. There is a quote that goes, "alertness is the hidden discipline," which means its an important trait to have. This is because its crucial to many parts of our journey to success. It plays a part and takes a tole of your life.

9. Initiative 

Initiative is a very important quality to have when you want to achieve success because it requires  you to often do things on your own. So when you have initiative you asses and do things independently. To be able to achieve something for yourself you need to do things on your own. Initiative enables you to effective pursue and achieve . It becomes an ambition to do things and reach for success. Initiative qualities are being a leader and taking charge when having to which are perfect qualities for  someone who is successful. When you being initiative it helps you reach your goal because your being proactive even with outside influences doing the opposite. Sheryl Sandberg said a very convincing statement of initiative. She said," taking initiative to do without waiting on others to tell you what to do". This quote demonstrates the leadership skills are what make initiative important in having the upper hand of what others may  do. Others like Sandberg said can just wait for others to tell you what to do. Initiative establishes a leader in you to take your self to where you want to be in life.

10. Intentness

When were young its easy to find a goal or what you want to accomplish. Although as we  get older we forget what that goal or dream is because of lack of intentness. When you have intentness you are focused on exactly where you want to be. When you don't have intentness you settle for less. Its good to direct your mind in energy towards something that benefits you. Instead many people don't accomplish their dreams and don't continue the path they would have if they had intentness. Having intentness doesn't mean that you wont get distracted or make a mistake but at least you wont stay in that level you will strive to be in the next. You will have more concentration towards each action that leads you to your goal. Alexander Graham Bell idea on concentration is a heartwarming way to see such a hard ability. He said once,"Concentrate all you thoughts on the work at hand. The suns rays don't burn unless its focused".Graham is stating thta when you acumulate something the products of it is always great. Intentness produces only positive and stron things in your life if you just apply it.

11. Sincerity

When we examine ourselves its to build us up to be better. However many people are not sincere about their faults which doesnt enable them to grow. For this reason is why its good to have sincere friends who are there to support but alos sincere which just means they will be there to help  you be a better you. When your not sincere to yourself or even to people get this bad impression of you that dont carachterize a sucessful leader. Sincerety keeps your heart true from easily lying to yourself. Its good to avoid this becasue then we forget our goals and plans. When your sincere to others you open door to others to be sincere to own. Charles Spurgeon said somthign very blunt but to avout sincerety. He said, " sincerety makes the very least person be of more vaue than the most talented hypocritical." This menas that no matter what talents you have you  cant be cold hearted or eles it becoemes a Sheild to others seing your potential. As well as stating that no matter how great you are on the outside you need to have those good inner factors of a good hearted person. This applies to those buisness men that you want a car from or those teachers to recognize your potential. At times we just nee to be sincere to get to where we want.

                                  

12.Adaptability

This skill is very important to reach sucess in your career. At times manny employess lack the ability to be adaptable to their surroundings in there work place. When attending a customer the employee needs to adapt to their needs. As well with a co worker there needs to be a certain flexibility to work with people with different personalities. This excersises patience, understanding, and it allows you to learn from skills that they have. When your applying this to a day to day bases your boss will acknowlegde your ability to adapt maybe leading to a promotion. Many people stuggle to adapt to customers who speak different languages that they lack patience for. As well as with co workers clashing with their oppinions and alhpa personality. This ability requires a person to know themselves adn who they are. This importsnt becasue when you know who you are anothers personality work make that stumble.There is a quote that goes,''There is recompensation for those who attempt or have the ability to be adaptable''. The way they veiw their enviorment will change and the way they percieve others will chang. 

13.Condition

A lot of people have goals and dreams. Its alwasy important to chase your dreams yes, but when your ready. In the moment we may want something but not see the bigger picture. There is a quote that goes, "Big steps in life require big shoes to fill". This means that when you want to do things that are challenging you need to be ready for it. Your condition has so much to do with how you will handle situations and carry yourself. When your not ready for big things to happen its better to prepare that to jump inot some situation without measurment. Mentaly preparing yourself for had situations will eleviate the situation once yo get to it. Emotionally you need to be prepared or else any hard situation will make you give up unidentifying how to solve the situation. Physicaly we forget about the strength our bodies have and juts focuse on the strength of our minds. When embarking on a new journey your body needs to be in shape for any sicknesses not to occur. For these reasons its important to be in condition for sucess.

14. Skill 

In order to be sucessful you need to have some skill to be able to execute a job. Skill is something that is going to change. Maybe your good at somthing and in a few years with practice youll be great at that something. Leveling up to a different job means youve leveled up in your skill. It wont always be easy but with dedication it could catapolt you to sucesss. For example if your not so great at reading wiht practice youll be able to execute it effectively and use that to be sucessful as a spokeperson. Skills are not alwasy going to be natural at it will take time. Your skill can help you identify a career your interested in. Micheal Josephson said," Hire for carachter, train for skill."This quote means that skill is somethign that will help you in a job but its something measn to excerisise its not alwasy needed naturally. Skill is very helpful for success but its not crucuial. Skill isimportant to have but it wont be lethal to your sucess only if you dedicated to developing a skill.

15. Team spirit

There are many factors to how important it is to have team spirit. When you don't support your team there is something lacking to whatever it is your working on. For example When your building a house if the workers on the house and electricity is working but the plumbers lack is doing their job it will not be complete. Success is not achieved solely by yourself but it involves having to do some type of team project. We live in a world where there are people with so many talents that benefit us to work as a team and use everyone's talents to create something different. Sometimes your own talents are suffice to you but your talents mixed with someone else can establish a greater product. In other words when your in a team you achieve more. In areas of life you need more than one persons effort. For example in an orchestra you cant play a whole symphony on your own  need everyone's participation if you want to hear a symphony.  Micheal Jordan once said "talent wins games but teamwork wins championships". This quote sheds light to another aspect of team spirit in the world around us. He explains that there is a need for a team and sometimes a need of one persons talent.

16. Honesty

There is so much importance that honesty needs to be given when being successful. In some ways you then can rely on your success coming from some place clean. Others need to rely on someone truthful in order to be able to trust one another. This applies to the work space to and being able to fluidly cooperate as a team. Also in your personal life you need to be able to be honest in order to have successful friendships and marriage. There is a quote on honesty that expresses the view point that defines an honest and a liar. The quote says,'' honesty is a very expensive gift, don't expect it from cheap people". This quote describes the characteristics of a person with and without honesty. In this quote it conveys the honesty with having value thus meaning that whoever has honesty is of the same value. On there other hand describing a person without honesty as being cheap. There is a connection made that people can be cheap in not being honest because cheap is the easy way effortless and false because its not real. Same goes with not being honest your taking the easy route and not being real but fake in every situation. 

17. Resourcefullness

Some people never reach success because they don't put to good use what they have. People have the resources  to reach to where they want to be although many dont know it. There are some people that dont escalate into success because they try to get there on their own. With certain connections or abilities is enough to get to where you need to be. By just knowing one person that person can help many other know you. With a certain skill can enable you to compile enough money for something needed. Maybe not even abilities but characteristics. There are a lot of people lacking the type of characteristics one is looking for in employees. By just facing challenges in a different way and showcasing those actions can get you positive attention to getting closer to your goal. Napoleon Hill said something that correlates with this idea. He said, " A resourceful person will always make opportunity to suit his or her needs". Like before you need to use whatever it is that your good at or befriend people that will eventually open doors in your benefit. 

18. Poise

Success isn't easy and a lot of times it puts you in stressful situations. What is very memorable about someone is how they execute a situation. In businesses  it is important to handle stressful situations well. Poise is a powerful sign of education especially in difficult situations. When someone is able to control their anger or distress they are better respected and trusted that their in control. A lot of people don't have the characteristics to be a vice president or a manager but those who have poise automatic express a leader. When being a leader you need to be able to take charge and not be scared and when you exude poise especially in stressful situations you become that leader. This is because people are going to see that control and become followers. There is a quote that express what poise is in the interior of a person. It goes " a calm and balanced mind is a strong and great mind". This quote expresses the benefits of poise and the balance it allows a person to have. Poise is a very unimportant to many but those who value it are valued for the uniqueness.

                                             
19. Confidence

  A lot of people in this world lack confidence that doesn't allow them to reach success. Its important to believe in yourself before you put yourself  in a situation that allows others to be opinionated  about you. Don't expect for people to respect you if you don't seek to respect yourself. What a lot of people look for in others is confidence. Sometimes people are not confident just arrogant. Arrogance just implies that you need of nobody which is not a good characteristic for teamwork. Confidence helps you obtain many other characteristics. It helps you acknowledge who you are and always strive to do better. It helps you be persistent. Marcus Garvey said something that follows the lines that if you don't believe in yourself how will others.  He said," If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated". This quote can imply that your best friend and worst enemy is yourself. While also saying that others can but you down and it can be defined as a defeat but when your already doing the same is double hurt.

20. Reliability 

When trying to work up to success its so crucial to be able to rely on you. In a lot of environments there is a need for implying reliability.  So many people have it all to be successful but because you cant rely on that person the rest of their value of work weakens. Reliability can be implied in a business, marriage, or even school. In a business if you want that promotion you need to be able to be relied of to take the lead. For a marriage its about two people balancing each other if your partner cant rely on you then it wont work out. For a group project even if your a great partner if the team cant rely on you you pull down the group. There is a quote that goes," reliability is measured by actions not by words". This quote comes to show that people are not always a man of their word. These type of people are just not capable to achieving whats promised. For these types of people its a struggle to be successful. To reach success you need to show others that you can be reliable.

                                   

21.  Fight

There is a rough aspect to fight and an admirable aspect to what it means to fight. Sometimes fighting can be physical and aggressive when not benefiting anyone. Other occasions your fighting in a persistent way in order to get to the other side of the tunnel. There are times when people who cant agree fight maybe to a physical point. In other occasions people are fighting cancer pushing through. Fighting with someone is not the answer to many issues. Fighting for or to something is the need to push forward and reach success. When you take the different route of the aspects of fighting you get different outcomes. But when you go about it the right way you are able to achieve different heights. George Patton something that ore people should live by. George Patton said,"better to fight for something than to live for nothing". This quote means that many people never choose to achieve and reach a goal. To reach success means to persist towards it to fight for it. 

22. Competitive greatness

 There is always a good way and a bad way to go before something. Some people go before a challenge with a positive attitude but others go having a head start of failure. A great way to face something is to keep a mindset on what you will achieve after it. Competitive people often get the win because their focused on what they want and don't let anything get in their way. When you don't have a drive for what to achieve you don't pursue your goal enough. When your competitive you find a way under the rocks even to get to the finish line. This helps you not get so easily discourage or give up so fast. A lot of times its not even about being positive but keeping your heart set on something. Competitive people become more outspoken almost on the urge of denial not accepting anything that might backtrack them. It doesn't always imply to be seen as cocky although there are some who are. There's a quote that goes, "its not always about talent but about competitiveness". This quote outlines that we don"t always have to rely on what you can do to get where we want but want it enough to get there.
                                         

23. Integrity

In my opinion integrity is an option and an undivided mindset but a focused opinion. By option I mean to say that no matter where you come from you can create a new sense of what integrity means. That even though you could come from a lying  environment you can choose to either lie the same way or change your own principles to be different than those around you. I also mean by undivided mindset that not matter what circumstances come you stay true to that mindset to not degrade your principles. Although by focused opinion i mean you know who you are as a person to decide your point of view so that when someone tries to say different they can change your mind only through a well structured conversation and not by two words. Integrity is tested in every area of your life work  and home. Its not a characteristic you just need at work but in every area in order to reach  a successful level in your life. A lot of people lack integrity which places them in a lower level in life they didn't envision. When you demonstrate to others your lack of integrity no one will want to build any kind of relationship with you because every relationship is based on trust. C.S. Lewis stated that, "integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking". This quote demonstrates another aspect that integrity should be applied in. Integrity shouldn't be a facade but a characteristics you demonstrate in front and behind others. To have integrity is valuing yourself and others. 

24. Faith 

When your attempting to reach success you tend to either put yourself up or down. Although when you do so you get different solutions. If you aim for something with a good attitude you'll have a positive outcome. When you face something with a bad attitude you will have a negative outcome. This all depends the way you see yourself. If you see yourself as capable of reaching success you can achieve it. If you look at yourself as a failure and a loser you wont be able to achieve anything. There's a biblical quote that embodies this idea. The scripture says, " you will reap what you sow". This quote just means that what you put into something that's what you will receive in return. Sometimes its about having faith in yourself that you are capable. When you have faith in what you know you are capable of reaching and achieving you will soar into your goal. 

25. Patience 

One of the biggest struggles in this life is learning to be patient. There are many obstacles in life that acquire patience. Many ways to reach success is by taking the path of patience. In a marriage to be able to live live with a different person that has a different character than you , you need patience. In a job you need to have patience to deal with other personalities that are strong. You also need patience to get to your goal.  When your not patient with others it also makes your home workplace and life more difficult. There can be sometimes in which you don't want to be patient with others but when you do you set yourself to a different standard. A boss can easily respect and hold you to a higher level when your patient with others.You also need patience to get to your goal. Sometimes people are not patient to reach their goal that they will comply to any other. Instead of rising to you own potential you dim down. There's a quote that gives an example of this idea when it states, " patience is not the ability to wait but to keep a good attitude while waiting". This quote gives the idea that patience of not conforming to something but confronting it with a good perspective and attitude. 

Reflection

This success block was very helpful to opening perspective on how many things fall to place when it comes to reaching success. It gives a guideline to what  to do  towards a goal and a level in life. As a good refresher of where to see yourself in the future. Giving perspective to what kind of goals are good to have. The success blocks can help to evaluate who we are as a person and where our mind is in terms of our future. Serving as reminders of why school is important to building up our careers. How many steps to success don't have to be an actual action but decisions in changing our bad habits.  Not just the qualities of a successful person but a person with good values and morals. The fact that there are qualities that can catapult you to a happy life.
